Mitsubishi Lancer Register Annual 30-130 Event - RAF Marham
After many weeks of preparation, Ross Walker of Rosssport, drove
his 900bhp Rosssport/AP-Tuning prepared Evo 6 to a new MLR
record of 5.84 seconds for the 30-130 event. Competitors are
expected to accelerate from 30-130mph within a marked out 'box',
under controlled conditions. AP-Tuning built a high tech 2000cc
motor featuring Alloy Rods, Forged Pistons and with a Rosssport
GT42 Turbo kit. Nitrous Oxide (NOS) was used to assist spooling
of the turbo. Despite causing damage to the engine earlier in
the day as the result of a missed-gearshift, the AP-Tuning team
carried out some track-side repair work which put the car back
into the competition and although Gary of AP-Tuning wasn't
entirely happy with the way the car was running, Ross was still
able to deliver a record-breaking performance, snatching the
title from Simon Norris of Norris Designs who set an already
staggering time several years ago.
Well done Ross!
